After 8 hours in the bus..

Im finally in Hinterreit. Sestriere was kind of a shitty weekend for me. I went there for the super combined that should be held today but cause of fog yesterday they cancelled the DH and put it in today but this morning it was snowing pretty much so the cancelled today as well and then they won´t even do the combined.. So me and Andy jumped in to the bus and drove 8.5 hours to Hinterreit were I am right now. Tomorrow it´s GS on the schedule and it´s fun being around the other tec girls again; Maria, Tessan and Frida :-)

In the fog in Sestriere yesterday, could hardly find the way down in some parts

Bad weather staking the speedtour

Hey hoo!
Yesterday it was a nice day as you can see on the lower picture, cold and sunny and I had 8 rund in the GS course. I trained alone with my coach Andy, really nice to be alone for once it´s not so often, easy and calm and I trained in my own tempo. I really started to find something, that was fun. I try to be deeper between the turns so I have more snowcontact and can go direct on clean edge in to the next turn!
We were on the olympic GS slope from 2006 where Anna Ottosson took a bronze medal for sweden!
I also did 2 good SL runs afterwards, for the combine here in Sestriere on sunday.

Today it was foggy and really snowy but I got some GS runs in. Unfortunately we had som ebad luck with the weather at the speed races this year not all but pretty many days with not so good weather I wish for better tomorrow so Anja can do the DH in an awsome way :-)
Good night!

Foggy on the slope today

Nice view over the olympic village from Torino/Sestriere 2006

Home sweet home!

Stockholm, in my hoods

I´ve been home in Stockholm for 2.5 day and it´s been really nice. Meeting my family and friends, walking around in the city shopping a little bit and just being in our appartment is things that gives me energi. I had been on the tour for three weeks and now I will be down for three more weeks. I should have gone to austria and trained there but it came a lot of snow so we change the planes and went straight to Sestriere a long drive, 7.5h hour.

A swedish semla, one of my favourites.

Sundays Super-G race in Cortina: I was really frustrated after fridays race but I tried to relax and just feel joy for skiing. I had a good flow during the run and let the skies go, much more movement and realeasing than last time. After the first jump I alomost missed a gate but made it back and then in the lower part a was a bit out but keept the skies going so I finished in 13th position and I´m satisfied with that. Now I got on papaer that I can ski fast, that was exactly what I needed! In the evening I flew home to Stockholm, two days at home will do a lot of good for the brain and body, nice to get a new envioronment!

Some pictures from the weekend!
In the finish with a lot of clothes on =)

Lindsey 3 times on the podium this weekend

      25th this friday
Podium girls in the SG on friday

Two less successful days!

Yesterdays SG was a big disappiontment for me I didn´t feel that slow when I was skiiing, though I let the skies go and no big misstakes but when I watched the video afterwards I saw that the real acceleration in to the turn and the wright momentum wasn´t there. I ended up at 25th place.  Happy times for Anja though, she was second after Lindsey and skied really good! Congrats :-)
Todays DH was not better either, got the yellow flag after 40 sec skiing, the girl before me had crashed and was still in the slope. So I had to borrow my coach jacket and go up to start again.. one lift and the a walk step uphill for a couple of minutes. I felt reloded when I did my second start and the run was ok in the beginning but then the mistakes showed up in more than one place and I finished 36.
So two big disappointments, have to leave it and go forward.
Tomorrow sunday is a new day and I will relax and enjoy skiing down the racehill on the SG with nr 26!
Forgot to tell you that Jonas my boyfriend came thursday, it´s been nice having him around for a couple of days!

Super-G Race is here!

Now it´s time to put the DH away for a day, (better feeling today and more aggresiv but still slow and I missed a gate..) and focus on Super-G, this is my favourite slope to race in and I´ve been looking forward for this day for awile. I will get out and go full, all in that you have to do if you wanna do good. I have start nr 25 and the start is at 10 o´clock, wish me luck =)

This picture is taken from start today, still cloudy but the weather forcast says it will be better tomorrow

Safety mode on…

Today we had DH training, It started snowing when they had started the training so it was really bad visibility and it was bumby as well, I tried to be forward and just stand up skiing but no, I skied passive and didn´t go on the skies full so no clean turns, sucks but I can not get over that safety line in my head… But at least I was not a lone, a lot of the girls today missed some gates (doesn´t show in the results) and many felt the same way as me that makes it acctually a bit better for me. I had the 38 time and I was 5 sec behind..
Nice pictures from this morning before the bad weather came.. DH training tomorrow again!

Yesterday

I had problems with the internet yesterday so I couldn´t get this out.. We were training on a small hill 40min from Cortina called Toblach. It´s a small hill but it´s good cause you get many runs in during a short time. Giant slalom feels good now days i´ve found the taiming and rythm again.
In the afternoon I took a jog in the cross country tracks. It was beatiful weather yesterday as it should be in cortina :-)
Me and Dessan took a walk in the village looking for nice rhings but didn´t find any. In Franz Kraler though they have furs for a couple of bucks sort of say, but it was nice to look anyway hehe. Bought some youghurt, juice and fruit so you can get through the afternoons without a empty stomack

Cortina with love <3

This is totally my favorite place on the tour; I will give you five good reasons why
1: It´s in Italy
2: I won my first and only so far WC race here 2009
3: Normaly I ski good here (almost always sun and hard grippy snow)
4: 5 Torri (the restaurant)
5: Cosy villlge
6: Good coffe, cappucino, espresso you name it!
Me and Dessan went to the gym and did a good leg session there, since I was a bit sick it was a while ago since the last time but I felt strong and it was fun being in a gym again =)
To end the evening perfect we ate at the best restaurant-5 Torri, on the meny; Caprese, Pizza with rocket salad, parmesan, tomatoes and Tiramisu with a macciato to end with, it was fabulous!! So nice, not the last time we will go there this week.
