Cold

Another beatiful and really cold morning. SG training in the morning and then GS after a short break. Really quite to train all alone, it´s peaceful and I enjoy it for a couple of days.
In Giant slalom I went tgether with 2 German girls, Vicky Rebensburg and Kathrin Hoelzl but Vicky didn´t start from the top so I didn´t get the best comparison but I had a good feeling today and the farmer Peter that owns the slope and the palce where we stay had made the pist in an awsome shape
In the lift a was thinking about fat, they say it should warm the body but my ass is the coldest spot on my body and there I have for sure some fat. It doesn´t make sence…
After lunch a took a long nap for 1 hour and it was really tough to get up… But I made it and finish today with a strenght sesison at the gym!

Week review

Semla at Tösse

I´ve been eating a few of these at home, I just love them especilly when they´re from Tösse bakery, They have the best ones.

Was suprised when it was white in Stockholm when I came home, it´s brighter, more beatiful and people gets happier.

I watched Jonas on a race at home but unfortunately he struggled the third gate in the first run… That´s slalom I would say, part of the game.

I´ve got a new freeride helmet  and googles from POC :-) so thrilled and really looking forwards to use it soon!

So this was the review from my week at home. I took vacation from the blog and email, but for sure not from Wordfeud haha..
I was really tired when I came home after 4 weeks away, tha body was working better and better during the session in the week but it took some time for the head to get fresh again. I´ve been quite busy, meeting a lot of friends this time, so nice to catch up and seeing both of my sisters and parents makes me happy. Quality time with Jonas is fore sure the best!
Time for take off towards Hinterreit, Suppose to be a camp for me and Maria but she´s as you know at home, so it´s a one man show this three days.
I´m not often late but many time s a last minute girl, I was the last one to enter the plane this time no more description needed.. So a bit back to the roots cause I learned to take more time these days.
Good day in Hinterreit SG in the morning and then enjoyed zick zack slalom, so fun when you haven´t done it for a while!

So another race has come to an end, I was skiing in slow motion the first run, I really tried to push but I didn´t get any movement or pressure down in the skies. I was standing to much straight over the skies instead of getting the skies away from the body so you create angels and pressure = speed. I also skied to round and then you don´t get any help with forces to come in the turn.
I was really dissapointed after first run and I felt reallt tired after being away for a month..

I refocused and felt more relax in the second run, tried to risk more and go straighter and it succeded, I had second time in the socend run and anvanced from 23rd palce to 12th witch mean that next race I will be strating top 15 for the firat time ever sweet!

Now home for a week, so nice I really need to load my batteries and fill upp my energy!

Different week

It´s been a strange week, I did have some things in my stomach which I didn´t like, Maria got injured, my mother had a surgery for her hip (that was planed), read about Sarah Burke that didn´t make it after her crash and passed away (never meet her but she´s one of the biggest profiles on the womens side on skies) and my grandfather (my fathers father) sadly died yesterday. He was 97 years old and just fell asleep more or less so the time had come for him but though anyway…
I feel good now anyway and will turn this things around to some positive things tomorrow hopefully!
Looking forward for another GS race and this hill is nice to ski, starting with nr 20.

Headcoach have been home for a couple of days so he´s full of energy now!

Maria my friend and team mate unfortunately injured her knee on a GS training this week. She tore the ACL and will be out for the rest of the season… I feel so sorry for her and it sucks but I know that she will come back stronger than before. I will miss having her arround here on the tour. I wish you all the best Majsan!

 

Hinterreit

Hinterreit – so much snow this year, really beatiful!

Peter the guy who own the hill and the farm that we live in always get´s the slope in a good shape, today it was really solid and hard snow.

Kranska Gora race hill, here is were the action will take place on saturday and sunday for those who do the slalom.

Yesterday was not the best day for me on the slope and I didn´t really feel well either, something going on in the stomach but today I´m on the right way and skiing was working out. Tomorrow will be a easy day here in Kranska Goras neighberhoods!

Season best!

 

Adrenalin pumping through the body, taking three deep breaths, a sip of my drink and then “arme” 20 second to go. Clutching the pools together “10s”, finding a good position with the pools and the body just wanna get out of the gate. “5s” and you´re allowed to go.

The start of Cortinas SG is magic, you only see the first gate and when you have passed it it´s just to push as hell down the Toufana pitch in to the sun and skies are running smooth through the perfect hardpact snow. For me it´s lika a lovestory coming to Cortina every year!
Yesterday I finished 6th, the best result so far this season and only 0,17s to the podium. I was second on topp but didn´t go clean enough in curva grande so I missed a little time there but I´m satisfied with my performance and result!
Lindsey Vonn won and she skied so good and on the limit all the way, congrats once more.

Now I´m in Hinterreit,Austria on the farm. A day off is exactly what I needed!

It was a good training for tomorrow in todays DH. So when I´m in the SG I´m used to high speed so I can push and go even faster.
Fun for Daniela Merighetti who won her first WC today!! And the first speed victory in 7 years for Italy on the womens side.

Tomorrow I will enjoy the nice weather and surroundings and try to push the limits!!

Happy anniversary – 1 year of blogging

This is the absolute favourite on the WC tour – Cortina will always be a special place for me. Here I won my first and only so far WC victory. It was 3 years ago in SG!
This is my ninth year here and almost every year I start to ski good in Cortina cause I´ve been a slow starter in the season earlier. Changed this year though
The food here is incredible, the cappucino excellent the surroundings amazing – all good! The only thing missing this year is Jonas cause he noramlly visit me here but we did another plan this time…

 

 

Since it´s a year that I started blogging I have to thank all readers, it´s always fun knowing that some of you follows me through everything, I´m learning things about my self while writing for you aswell.
