Nice race ok result!

Super nice day in Bansko, good conditions and a good race from me, not perfect but I let the skies go! Fun to ski and a13th place isn’t to bad!
Looking forward for some days in Austria now.

Pancake of the day

Perfect pancakes just across the road from the hotel (the magic pancake man is in the background)

pancakes and hot dog in a kiosk strange mix but it tasted really good, almost like home. We ordered 2 each cause I said that they are normally small but no chance to eat both of them unfortunately.
One was with only sugar and the other one with chocolate and banana

When I was running the other day I passed this house 5 times cause I didn´t want to run to far away from the village cause it´s kind of a ghetto out there… But anyway the thing was that it stood a horse there then totally free, no leach or fence just staring at me. surprised how he stayed there and didn´t explore the surroundings but I guess he was addicted to his food which was there by the house.

My original plan was not to ski today, take a day off but I was pissed after yesterdays performance in DH I wanted more( good top split and a section in the middle) so I went today anyway and that I´m glad for. Better skiing all the way, some mistakes but I feel good on the long skies and this was my best run in a long time!

For those of you that doesn´t know Swedens crown princess Victoria and her husband prince Daniel had a baby daughter yesterday her name is Estelle, so cute!! Congratulations to them. Every day baby princesses are born but this girl is a princess for real

Balkan tour goes on!

The travel to Bansko, Bulgaria went well but it takes a lot of energy so I´ve been sleeping a lot =)
Trained GS both yesterday and today on good conditions. Nice with some tech again, and two good physical sessions felt good after last weeks cold = not so much training.
Otherwise Bansko is on the positive side so far, I heard so much bad things about this place coming here so it´s nice when it showed a better side. The ski area is huge and it´s a village like a winter charter place, party every day of the week and tourist traps.
Tough to get a sleep with the disco pumping outside and people screaming in the night so earplugs is a most!

Sochi – no racing

This morning it was snowing again..

I was a bit unlucky yesterday cause after racer nr 51 they stopped the race cause of fog and then I was waiting for 1hour on start and then they cancelled so I ate lunch 16.30.. new record I think, It wasn´t meant to be maybe. The last DH training I had a good feeling in DH and was skiing not just going with the skies and that was the first time I enjoyed DH this year and then I wasn´t allowed to race but anyway..
Today it was really bad snow in some turns already on inspection. When we finished the inspection they called us up for another one cause they had to reset the course in the lower part were it was so soft.. First time they reset a SG and have a 2nd inspection. Anyway prior to start they cancelled the race, it wasn´t safe enough and almost all races agread on that aswell.
So I got two training runs at least this week so I know how the slope lookes like and I like it, I smelled the Russina air so that feels good towards the Sochi 2014 olympics.

Time to leave Russia tomorrow for Bansko, new place again!
Interresting I´m jealous of the onces that will race in Moscow, I would also like to go there, it was close cause a l0ot of racers is injured or didn´t wanna go but maybe next time…

To Russia

Before taking off to Russia, Jonas came down to Zurich so we could meet for a day, that was nice to see eachother live and not have to talk through the phone or skype

Half of the plane were full with our luggage, no “please put the bags in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you” . But we made it to Sochi saftley any way.

The race in Andorra didn´t really turn out the way I wanted, maybe I had to high expectations on my self and wanted to much? I was a bit tense for the first run and that´s not my best way to be. I skied stiff and wanted to be high in the line so I should not push to hard in the aggresive snow but I skied soft and round uphill after the gate, not the way to do it.
Second run, nothing to loose and I felt relaxed and just went for it and then I skied good again. I was 29th after first run and ended up 19th so at leat some points with me.

The travel to Russia was not to bad, just different checking in outside, just to but the stuff on a trolley and the luggage inside the plane otherwise as normal. We flew to Sochi and then bus shuttle for 1 hour to Rosa Khutor were we stay. Didn´t see much of Russia in the dark, but here it´s not to much to see here, they built hotels in the middle of nowhere and then it´s nothing more and nothing less.
The slope have a good potential to be nice for speed but yetsrday was to soft and bumpy for my taste. But a lot of terrain in and 2 jumps so it will be fine. Yesterday due to wind we had to slow down and brake before the jumpes otherwise it was a bit tricky cause were it was turning it was tough to get around when it´s so soft, I think 60% of the girls made all the gates!

Today Cancelled cause of the snow that came this night.. Hopefully better during the weekend!

Looked like summer in Barcelona – I have a lot of good memories from this city, nice with a big town and beach at the same place b ut this time I just passed through.

Spanish countryside from Barcelona to Andorra, nice new roads.

Shopping in Andorra La Vella with Frida and Dessan, a big city actually with cheep prices on parfumes, clothes and boose. I didn´t buy anything though, good girl!

Tomorrow it´s hopefully a GS race, so then I try to start topp 15 for the first time (again), that´s gonna be fun!!
Super good day for all the slalom girls, Tessan was 6th and Anna Swenn Larsson 14th (personal best) sweet for Sweden.

Starting first time topp 15 in GS today with nr 13 =)
It´s been blowing like hell all night so all the nets were down and a tv tower was brooken so everything is pushed for 2h.
Tough to sleep even though I used earplugs,iron stuff was draged over the roads and the wind blew into to my room!
Time to get ready now, gemma!

One year older!

Getting ready in the morning, training in Erhwald outside Garmisch on the Austrian side
kMe and the lift are spending a lot of time together many days a week, don´t even wanna know how many hours I´ve been sitting and standing in lifts… But it´s good to have time to reflec over life or the technic. If I´m in a good mood I like to go alone and sing
GS course, easy but goos to push!

So I got 28 years old yesterday, feels good to older and hopefully viser. I like getting older, you gaine more experience and have more nice memories and moments stored in your body and head!

Missed the roughness

Inspection on the SG
Yeserday I finished 18th. Second worst result in SG this season but I wasn´t good enough. It was a really tough course (this slope is normally challenging) and I like the challenge and when you just have to go and trust your instincts. I was to passive in some parts and had a misstake were a lot of girls skied out, I felt I didn´t push enough in the tecnical parts were I normally should be good.
I would have loved to ski fast in that kind of course and conditions but Julia was the strongest girl yesterday and she won. Fun to see her on top of the podium again!
Today is a ruhetag so I think I will take a trip to the village and walk around for a while in the afternoon. GS preperations tomorrow for Soldeu.

Welcome back Kelly Vanderbeek, she´s been away for more than 2 years cause she injured her knee. Fun to see her in race mood again!

My day was pretty good, slow in DH but a better feeling I must say at least. Tomorrow it´s time to go full gas again, starting with nr 13 in the SG start at 12 o´clock.
