Farewell of lovely Tessan

I will miss this ladie on the tour. Tessan has been around longest of everyone in the team cause we are the same age and we started our battles on the slope in a early age and then we went on the ski gymnasium together aswell!

We had a lot fun through the years, thanks for everything Tess & congrats to great career with podiums and a World Cup victory!
We will for sure keep seeing each other! <3

And Im really happy with my new sponsor I had this season. Hyrskidan rent out and sell good ski equipment just outside Åre. Nice people running it wit passion for skiing and knowledge!

And now I’m warming up on the bike for the last wc race this season, looking forward to perform some good skiing!! Last chance for a while..

Soaking spring sun

After World Champs I went home disappointed about my GS performance..I wanted more than a 13th place but didn´t ski good enough that day.
A week in Stockholm with a lot of Mañana (Manjana) seeing friends and family was good for the soul!

Sitting in the sun after yesterdays SG race in Garmisch, good skiing by me and a season best 13th place. Feels like I know how to ski SG again Ended up 26th in the world cup standing and 25 can race the final in Lenzerheide so it´s the first time in many years that I can’t race the SG in the finals but that’s the way it is and I still have a good chance in GS cup still, right now in position 7!

Brain charge

I left Schladming after the SG to meet up with the other tech girls. We had really good training in Innerkrems both normal conditions and on balked, icy conditions.
Took me a day to get going but then I found my skiing! Nice to hang with the girls and everyone is in a nice mood and looking forward for this week.

On my day off I went to Spittal and went for a walk along Millstätter see, it was really quiet down there, nice to get away from our hotel which wasn´t the funniest place to be..

Back in Schladming, did some runs in Reiteralm yesterday, but I was a bit tired in my head so it was easy going. Today I will charge my brain, luckily it´s sunny so I can go gor a walk The big day is getting closer and I just want it to start soon!!

Super G race

 

This picture pretty much summaries why we had to wait 3h on start yesterday. I had startnr 2 which I was happy to have cause of the soft snow conditions but I could ´nt go inside cause they postponed with 15min every time and then it was to tight to go in.
But it was warm so no problem, we had some snacks, drinks and music so it was ok. The slope was really soft so it was a bit tricky to ski and for the later startnr it was on the limit to not skiable. Congrats to Tina Maze for her gold, she really deserves it and Lara who steps up when it´s championships and Julia Mancuso that always seems to know how to get a medal at every championships she’s starting in, cool Jules!

I didn´t win any medal, but I tried my best and it was fun skiing. I did season best in SG and skiing was partly good so that´s what I will take with me.

Crowded and good atmosphere in the finish today on the mens Super G, great clean skiing by Ted Ligety that won, impressive!

Now I´m in Innerkrems were we will have our tech pre camp, looking forward to get some good GS turns in tomorrow

Let the Schaldming WSC begin!

It´s been snowing almost all the time since I arrived in Schaldming, this morning it was a really heavy snowfall and it was about 20-30 centimeters in the training slope so no ski training today.
Feels good to be here and we´re staying in a really nice hotel, it´s brand new with Danish owners so it´s a lot of Scandinavian people working here and the manager, she´s swedish that´s always sweet.

But the morning actually started like this… everyone left except me and Lojze so we had to run arround to get another car which we finally found. Got 15 min late but we didn´t miss anything in the end anyway

So right now I´m writing this in my room while lighting a candle and then I will read a bit until lunch then in the afternoon it´s activationtraining, photo shoot, and press conference so I´m enjoying this easy time in bed

So I put the powder skies on and went for some runs
It´s a great place to be on for training and super good hotel but the weather you can not change

I was home for 3 days after Maribor. Really happy about my 5th place and my skiing there, feels good to have that one in the back coming to Schaadming.
I love this “semla” from Tösse, they have the best ones in Stockholm. I regain power when I eat this lovely thing!

Cortina d ámpezzo

The favorite week on the tour past quickly.

This was my best picture of the week I love the colours, the light and the Canadian coach Kurt standing on his position makes it more than just a scenery

St Anton was a tough race, I tried my best but I´m not “there” in SG. The start was ok and some gates in the lower turny section but otherwise I rise up and standing in a reserved position, I don´t have the right courage to just dive in as I did before but I know I have it some where and I´m working on it.

This week in Cortina it came a lot of snow about 70cm so they did a great job on the slope and got the snow away. The snow seems to follow the tour this winter.
On friday it was a beautiful sunny day and I enjoyed the DH, I was skiing like I haven´t in a while in speed so that was positive, then on the race I didn´t ski as clean and then I lost the movement a bit, so I ended up far behind.

Yesterdays SG was really snowy and they moved the start down. I was looking forward to race and I did what I could, some parts was good skiing and it was a step in the right direction and I got some points with me. It doesn´t match with my expectations for this winter in SG but I´m fighting to get back on top.

Deborah Compagnoni was my idol when I was a kid, I loved watching her skiing. Now she was in Cortina on stage for the bib draw, never seen here live so it was an inspiring moment for me

The last day we had this kind of weather but still nice view but in a different way..

I´ve been looking for brown rough boots for a long time and finally a found one pair in Toblach on Franz Kraler. It was an experience just to walk in there so much fancy cool stuff!

Now a day off in Hinterreit before the preparations for Maribor starts. Ciao

200 World cup starts

 

This cute little guy gave me a ski slope with gates, finish, racer and a trophy that he build him self and nr 13 for tomorrows race.
And tomorrow will be my 200 start in the world cup, amazing how years and races pass, looking forward to charge it in Super G again!

Farm life

I had a good time in Åre during the end of 2012 and starting 2013. Looking forward to see what this year has to enrich my life!
We were tourists on the slope and got some offpist but not so much snow and big risk of avalanches, but nice to just meet friends and hang around. On newyears day we had this great view from Åre Skutan.

Right now I´m in St Anton but I started this week in Hinterreit, we were pretty lucky with the training there cause it was warm and rainy some days. I stood on the SG skies for the first time in about a month, it was fun but I need some runs to get in to it again and build the confidence. It´s always nice in Hinterreit, we live just next to the slope and the farm, Peter and Renate takes really good care of us. I got a cold so Peter said his pearshots would help as a medicine… Don´t know if they do but now I´m starting to get healthy again.
